Near downtown Buda you find older homes with porches and simple rooflines. Out in the newer neighborhoods, the houses are bigger two-stories with multiple gables and long eaves. Both look good lit, but they need different designs.
For a cottage, we often focus on the porch, with column wraps, a door wreath and a clean drip edge. For a two-story, ridge caps and peaks give the house its outline at night.
Newer Buda subdivisions often sit on open former farmland with young trees, so the roofline does most of the work. Older streets near downtown have bigger trees that can be lit on their own.
How pricing works for Buda homes
Buda is about 15 miles south of downtown Austin, so it is an easy trip for our crew. Your estimate starts with satellite imaging, and we come out in person if we need a closer look.
Basic, $500 to $1,200, covers drip edge and soffit. Advanced, $900 to $2,500, adds the ridge cap and peaks. Gingerbread, $1,500 to $3,500, adds valleys, windows and doors, wreaths and column wraps. Wreaths and column wraps can be added to any package.
